Our Story

The Nail Team was launched in November 2007, by that point i had won 12 UK Nail Competition Titles. Initially the company was launched on Facebook as a group to advise, inspire and network with nail technicians worldwide. The Facebook group grew extremely fast, it wasn’t long before i was offering training all over the UK and worldwide. For the next few years i was still competing in the UK competitions, in 2009 i won International Nail Technician of the year and the following year 2nd place in International Nail Artist of the year 2010.

I was then told i had to judge the regional and international competitions and was unable to compete myself, admittedly i was gutted i didn’t feel ready to stop competing. So i found other competitions to enter.

The teaching naturally progressed into selling and distributing products, i started to work with brands such as Pro Impressions, NSI and Crystal nails. I also started my own brand of nail art products that included glitters, angel papers, pigments and materials. I was lucky enough to create you tube videos for naio nails, NSI nail angel videos and some smaller brands. This helped to spread the word about myself and The Nail Team. 

2012 i made it to the final of the 2 biggest UK nail and beauty awards. In 2013 i won them including Professional Beauty’s Nail Technician of the year 2013 and 2 Scratch Stars Awards; Nail Artist of the year and Nail stylist of the year.

At the end of 2013 i opened my own training school and wholesalers in Doncaster.

Then the next few years i concentrated on entering the business categories, making it to the finals in Scratch Stars Services to the Nail Industry Award in 2013, 2014 and 2015, in 2016 i finally won. The Nail Team made it to the finals of Best education in 2014 and 2015. In 2016 i was in the final for Yorkshire Choice Awards Business Women of the year and inspirational individual and won the Independent business category. I have more recently won Regional and Overall winner for Training School of the year with British Beauty Awards.

In 2017 i was offered the opportunity to be the UK distributers for Perfect Nails, i jumped at the chance, i had been sub-distributing the brand for just over a year and loved it, the standard, the packaging, the company support.

2018 i moved to larger premises for my training school and wholesalers. Within the next few years there was a twist to the nail industry, training became more about online learning and product sales through our website grew more that walk ins. so my business plan shifted to suit, i now offer online courses and it was at this point i finally felt ready to release my own brand Gems. Gems launched in November 2019 just 4 months before the covid 19 pandemic, these were and still are hard times for our industry so reassessing your business was key. I moved to smaller premises and concentrated on online training, distribution and continued growth of my own brands Gems and The Nail Team and Perfect Nails.

What can i and The Nail Team do for you? Well with over 24 years of experience in this industry i feel i can help and advise nail technicians not only on there work but also help with business issues. I still over 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 training in my Doncaster shop, that can be beginner level up to competition level. Online courses that i add to all the time and of course the product sales side where i can not only supply them but educate you in how they work.
